I know we’ve only had one meeting so far this year but I was inspired by so many things at the Scottish Social Services Expo yesterday and wanted to share my thoughts on some potential events for 2015.
How about an event focusing on meeting the needs of our deaf/blind/visually impaired service users? We’ve never covered anything like this before. I also spoke with Ian Fricker, who is involved in the redevelopment of the (dreaded?!) PRTL and other associated ongoing registration documents – would it be useful to have him along to give us the low down on all things continuous learning? Also, anyone who knows me knows I love a longitudinal study and I also spoke with people involved in the ‘Growing Up in Scotland’ Study – might it be good to have an input from them?
Next year there won’t be a Scottish Social Services Expo as Edinburgh will be hosting the IFSW Eurpoean Seminar between 7 and 9 September 2015. Watch this space for details – it will be a great event I’m sure!
