Get Online

‘Get Online’ Sessions

The Council is providing free ‘Get Online’ sessions to members of the public who have never used the internet before, or want to become more confident in using a laptop, tablet or phone to access the internet. Council staff can refer people who could benefit by contacting Kenny Sharkey on 0131 469 3615 or 07809320432.

Sessions started in Craigmillar library where there are two groups per week with regular attendance and a new group has started in Newington library.

A key part of the approach is outreach, so we also have a group in Moira Park Sheltered Housing in Portobello and are on the verge of starting one for Council tenants in Greendykes House.

The sessions are informal and provide 1-1 support from a volunteer. People can attend one session or several, as suits them.

Key for uptake of this service is referral by Council staff that are already in touch with people who could benefit from this.

For more information, see the following web and Orb pages or contact Kenny Sharkey on 0131 469 3615 or 07809320432
