Today’s meeting

Many thanks to those of you who attended this morning, though it was poorer than usual so please spread the word! I will get a minute of the meeting put together and will post it along with all the useful information – presentations and contact details – in the forseeable future.

I was particularly taken by Dr Anna Williams’ presentation on MS and the ease with which she made her (groundbreaking) research accessible and understandable to us all. Continue reading ‘Today’s meeting’

Dads Matter

Some of you may remember Anna Chrystal from Stepping Stones who sat on our panel at the ELPF/Children’s Practice Panel event back in May. There is now a new fathers worker at Circle and he and Anna have a new Dads Matter group starting in October. The remit for the first group is dads under the age of 25; it is an antenatal group which focuses on attachment and relaxation and will last for 6 weeks. I’ve attached info below and if you have any queries you can contact Anna on

MSW research – chance to get involved!

The ELPF have been contacted by a MSW student at the University of Edinburgh who is conducting small scale research  into the role and effectiveness of LPFs as proposed by Changing Lives. Anne Vance will be at the meeting on 28 August where she will explain a bit more about her research and the involvement she requires from social workers. This is a really good opportunity to have our voices and opinions on the ELPF heard.
