Joint Improvement Team: Integrating for Better Outcomes

Please circulate this information throughout your networks as it applies specifically to the more remote and rural parts of Scotland:

Up to ten remote venues across Scotland will host a joint seminar, linked together by video conference, to share the best content and material from our original Integrating for Better Outcomes event held in Edinburgh on June 12th.

Please circulate the flyer widely across your networks. Note that numbers are restricted for each venue so we will be operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register please complete the electronic registration form and return it by email as detailed here: JIT – Remote Participation Event

What is LOOPS?

Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations’ Council, Pilmeny Development Project and City of Edinburgh Council’s Health and Social Care Department have been working to deliver a new initiative: Local Opportunities for Older People or LOOPS.

The initiative has a strong focus on localism and is working to develop local infrastructure solutions to some of the longstanding issues facing local older people:
• social isolation
• lack of information about local services
• navigation of often complicated systems
• apprehension about going to new places or fear of a poor reception.

LOOPs have a series of local meetings coming up. Please see here:June-July LOOP

We also hope to have LOOPs at the next ELPF meeting.

Integration of Adult Health & Social Care

A set of proposals relating to the integration of Adult Health & Social Care in Scotland have been published by Scottish Government. These proposals are open for comment and if you, or a carer you work with, has a view you are encouraged to get in touch. The paper attached  explains the proposals, how they may affect carers and the person they care for and how carers can contribute their views to the debate.
